The Race to Richmond - Part 3

As of 10:00 AM today, the third leg of the Race to Richmond has begun!

Steve starts today’s leg of the race in Keysville, a small town south of Farmville. Starting today at an elevation of 650 feet above sea level, Steve will finish at 410 feet above sea level, experiencing a total elevation change of over 1,000 feet — 407 of incline, and 646 of decline. By this point, Steve will be completely out of the foothills of the Appalachians, escaping the harsh elevation changes of the mountain range yesterday.

Steve will end his run today in the town of Jetersville, Virginia, a few miles southwest of Amelia, Virginia. This leg of the run will take him through Green Bay and Burkeville, as well as the edge of Prince Edward Gallion State Forest, running a total distance today of 32 miles, bringing his total distance covered to 100 miles in 3 days.

LOCAL HOPE GROWER

Our local highlighted organization for today is Amelia County Dixie Softball. A softball league in Amelia County dedicated to providing girls from the age of 4 to 19 to participate in an accepting and inclusive softball league for teams throughout Amelia County and the surrounding region.

OVERNIGHT

Steve will end his run today at the BP in Jetersville, and will return to Farmville for the night. Steve will pick up from where he left off tomorrow, taking off for the fourth leg of his journey at 7:00 AM.
