Imprint, the charitable arm of Cobb Technologies, will be hosting its second annual golf tournament on September 28th. The tournament, held at Hunting Hawk Golf Club, will feature dozens of local businesses and benefit local charity, Backpacks of Love.
“Last year’s tournament raised nearly $15,000 and allowed local businesses to give back to the community,” said Andrea Starr, Outreach Coordinator for Imprint. “That money supplied 100 children with food for an entire year, and we hope to double the number of children we can help this year.”
All proceeds from the Imprint Golf Tournament benefit local charity, Backpacks of Love. Backpacks of Love’s mission is to eliminate hunger in school-age children and teens in Central Virginia by providing them with food on the weekends.
“The reason behind it is mainly to make sure these kids have nutrition through the weekend [until] they can get back on their school lunch programs,” said Rich Napier, president of Backpacks of Love. “The whole idea is that if you’ve got a child that’s not hungry, hopefully they’ll learn more in school and eventually break the cycle of poverty.”
In addition to great prizes like Disney World Park Hopper passes (an $800 value), participants will have a chance to win a 2017 Toyota Highlander. The event will have free snacks, drinks and an awards presentation with dinner provided. All organizations interested in participating in this year’s tournament should visit cobbimprint.org to view registration details and sponsorship opportunities.
